CanWest DHI has come up with a new pregnancy test for dairy cows. Dairy farmers now have the option of checking pregnancy through milk samples, which is done through DHI’s regular service options. The technology is apparently very similar to that which is used in blood pregnancy tests, but will now be easily done through milk tests instead. The new technology is being called ReCheck 60. The number 60 represents that the test is best used for 60 plus days in gestation. The new way of testing pregnancy serves as a great tool for pregnancy reconfirmation. This technology will be made available to dairy farmers in January 2013.
