Boost your farm revenue with mushroom cultivation
Enhance your farm’s profitability by mastering mushroom cultivation. UMES Extension, in partnership with The Bay Mushrooms, invites small-scale farmers to an interactive workshop on March 8, held at Federalsburg farm in Dorchester County, Maryland, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Expert instructor Jose Prieto, a seasoned farm operator and plant pathologist, will lead participants through the process of growing popular mushroom varieties, including shiitake, oyster, lion’s mane, and chestnut mushrooms.
Participants will receive hands-on training, three ready-to-grow kits, and a guide on gourmet mushroom farming.
The workshop aims to empower farmers with tools and knowledge to integrate nutrient-dense mushrooms into their operations. Prieto’s extensive expertise and innovative climate-controlled techniques have made his farm a supplier to local markets and wholesalers.
