The Manitoba government is hosting marketing and farm management workshops for beef and forage producers in the province.
The province recognizes the importance of a thriving livestock sector, according to Ag Minister Ralph Eichler in a Manitoba government release on Friday.
“Our government values the thousands of farm families in Manitoba whose involvement in the beef and forage industry help build the economy and support our communities,” Eichler said in the release.
“The sustainable growth of the livestock sector is important to farmers and the entire province. We are proud to recognize Manitoba Beef and Forage Week by partnering with the industry on these important knowledge-sharing seminars, which are an opportunity for farmers to learn from experts and one another.”
Government and industry speakers will cover topics including beef market outlooks, increasing pasture productivity, premises identification and extended grazing, according to the release.
“Manitoba Beef Producers encourages our members to attend the beef and forage seminar in their area,” Brian Lemon, general manager of Manitoba Beef Producers, said in the release.
“There is great value in having these events shine a spotlight on our industry as well as getting producers together for networking and discussion.”
Manitoba Beef and Forage Week runs all this week and the seminars are held at local agriculture offices.
