Canada's Farm Show Regina—held June 20-23, 2023, and one of the largest and most influential agricultural shows in North America—has announced it is debuting the all-important "Launching Your Career in Ag" event.

Taking place on Thursday, June 22, from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm in the Viterra International Trade Centre, the Launching Your Career in Ag event will connect prospective job seekers with over 300 potential employers from the agricultural industry.

The Canada Farm Show serves as a platform where exhibitors, producers, and international buyers converge to discover the latest advancements in equipment and technology. Each year, thousands of visitors from across Canada and around the world attend this prestigious event, making it an exceptional opportunity for networking and career development.

The Launch your Career in Ag event is specifically designed to provide students and aspiring professionals with an avenue to engage with leading manufacturers, suppliers, and other ag-related companies. Attendees will have the unique chance to discuss various opportunities and submit their resumes directly to potential employers, offering them a valuable head start in the agricultural industry.

"We believe in fostering an environment that encourages young talent to join our industry and connect them with industry leaders," stated Kirk Westgard, the Vice President of Agriculture at REAL (Regina Exhibition Association Ltd.). "This initiative's success relies on partnerships such as the one we have formed with AMC, and we are committed to providing promising prospects for the next generation of agricultural professionals."

Agricultural equipment manufacturing is a unique and growing industry in Canada, with revenues reaching over $8 billion per year. In Canada, agricultural equipment manufacturing has evolved as a distinct sector of innovation and economic activity relative to other manufacturing sectors.

Canadian agricultural equipment manufacturers understand the challenges and practices of farmers not just in Canada, but around the globe. By meeting the needs of the farmers, Canada’s agricultural equipment manufacturers are helping feed the world. Our industry employs more than 25,000 people in exciting careers in the skilled trades, engineering, marketing and communications, finance, human resources, and more.

Donna Boyd, President of AMC (Agricultural Manufacturers of Canada) said, “Our industry has seen exponential growth and the demand for talent is unprecedented.  A career in agriculture offers the opportunity to be part of one of the most successful industries in Canada; one which protects the environment, ensures global food security and fuels the future of food through innovation. AMC is directly addressing the needs of our members and our industry through the Careers in Ag Campaign – a partnership between industry, academia and government and we are proud to join forces with Canada’s Farm Show in the quest to attract and incent people into our sector.”

The AMC is a national organization with global impact representing over 250 agricultural equipment manufacturers and the many companies that support them. It lobbies provincially and federally, providing a strong voice and effective advocacy on key issues concerning AG.

Manufacturers, suppliers, and many other Ag-related companies will be on hand to discuss career opportunities and receive resumes.
