Lang foundation champions vet care equity
Kim and Stu Lang have generously contributed $7 million through The Angel Gabriel Foundation to enhance the Community Healthcare Partnership Program (CHPP) and Remy’s Fund at the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC). This renewed support builds on their initial $11 million donation in 2019, the largest in OVC's history, ensuring continued progress in providing animal healthcare to underserved populations.
The CHPP focuses on training student veterinarians to lead programs expanding access to animal health services while addressing social inequities. It incorporates a One Health approach, integrating animal and human healthcare for vulnerable communities. These initiatives embed principles of social justice into OVC's Doctor of Veterinary Medicine curriculum, creating meaningful change in the veterinary field.
Two million dollars of the donation bolster Remy’s Fund, named after the Langs' beloved pet. This fund assists cases beyond the scope of mobile clinics, ensuring animals with severe illnesses receive timely care.
