Isabelle Ausdal - new regional ethanol manager

Isabelle Ausdal, former manager of global ethanol policy and economics at the U.S. Grains Council (USGC), has assumed a new position as the regional ethanol manager for the European Union (EU), United Kingdom (U.K.), and Canada, effective from January 29, 2024. 

In her new role, Ausdal will directly oversee program activities and operations in the three-market region. This includes both policy and commercial engagement efforts, focusing on enhancing global ethanol consumption and improving market opportunities for U.S. ethanol producers. 

Within the Canadian market, the emphasis will be on ensuring fair access for U.S. ethanol producers under the Clean Fuel Regulation (CFR), supporting increased ethanol blending at 15 percent (E15). In the EU and U.K., Ausdal will concentrate on the deployment of the EU’s Renewable Energy Directive (RED III), engaging in policy discussions related to ethanol benefits in internal combustion engines, sustainable aviation and maritime fuel, and the growing adoption of E10 in individual EU member states. 

Mackenzie Boubin, USGC Director of Global Ethanol Export Development, expressed confidence in Ausdal's capabilities, citing her integral role in leading the ethanol portfolio markets of the EU, U.K., and Canada over the past two years. Ausdal's expertise and understanding of these key markets are expected to contribute significantly to their growth. 

Isabelle Ausdal holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural and consumer economics with a focus on public policy and law, along with a double minor in communications and leadership studies. Additionally, she holds a Master of Legal Studies (MLS) degree with a business specialization from American University’s Washington College of Law.
