The International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) has announced a significant update to its governance structure, bringing in new members to its Executive Council and directors for its five Industry Segment Boards. This move is a strategic effort to represent and engage all facets of the growing dairy industry in the United States more effectively.

The Executive Council, comprising seasoned executives from the dairy foods industry, is tasked with overseeing the business operations of IDFA. The Industry Segment Boards are specialized groups representing fluid milk, ice cream, cheese, yogurt and cultured products, and dairy-derived ingredients. These boards are made up of experts and executives who work alongside IDFA leadership to drive policy and strategic decisions.

Selected for their business acumen and dedication to the dairy industry, these new leaders will play a pivotal role in guiding IDFA's regulatory, legislative, communications, and membership services. Their collective expertise is aimed at propelling the industry to new heights.

For the second consecutive year, IDFA’s Nomination and Governance Committee has chosen members from its NextGen Leadership Program to join each of the Industry Segment Boards. This decision underscores IDFA's commitment to fostering diverse leadership and preparing the dairy sector for continued success.

IDFA represents a vital part of the nation's dairy manufacturing and marketing industry, supporting millions of jobs and significantly impacting the economy. Its membership includes a wide range of entities, from multinational organizations to single-plant companies, and covers most dairy products produced and marketed in the U.S. and globally.

IDFA's strategic priorities, developed in collaboration with its members, focus on nutrition, health, wellness, technology, innovation, sustainability, competitiveness, and workforce development.
