ESMC’s Eco-Harvest program incentivizes regenerative practices for environmental benefits

The Eco-Harvest program, developed by the Ecosystem Services Market Consortium (ESMC), rewards agricultural producers for adopting regenerative practices that create measurable environmental benefits.

These include increased soil carbon, reduced greenhouse gas emissions, and improved water quality.

Through this outcomes-based program, farmers and ranchers receive payments, while corporate buyers in the agricultural supply chain purchase the environmental outcomes to meet their sustainability goals.

The program gives farmers autonomy in choosing the best regenerative practices for their operations from a menu of options. Unlike many other programs, Eco-Harvest does not require producers to pay fees or buy subscriptions to participate.

The environmental outcomes generated by their practices are measured and verified, with the results sold to corporate buyers, funneling financial rewards back to the producers.

As of January 2024, Eco-Harvest is one of only two agricultural carbon programs with third-party SustainCERT validation, ensuring transparency and credibility.

Built for agriculture by agriculture, Eco-Harvest brings together partners across the agricultural value chain, leveraging resources and technology to scale the program and increase producer enrollment. This collaboration helps maximize value for producers and partners, while maintaining a focus on science, integrity, and transparency.

Eco-Harvest offers a streamlined experience, providing technical support and simplifying the soil sampling process for project developers and buyers.

Producers benefit from stable contract terms, knowing that once signed, key conditions like price and credit claims remain unchanged.
