During a recent product audit, Seattle-based Cucina Fresca Gourmet Foods discovered a mislabelling error that had occurred and has issued an allergy alert and a limited product recall for 58 cases of shelf-stable 24_oz Cucina Fresca Smoked Tomato Sauce in glass jars.The products that were mislabelled as Cucina Fresca Smoked Tomato Sauce actually contain Cucina Fresca Tomato Vodka Sauce, a tomato sauce that contains milk as an ingredient. Select Pacific Northwest Whole Foods and Quality Food Center locations in Oregon and Washington states (lot# 11002A and 11002B) are affected under this recall.The company has issued an allergy alert for those who may have milk allergies. Milk allergy symptoms can include itchy eyes, throat and skin and can potentially cause anaphylaxis in persons with allergies to milk.
