Visitors of the Degelman Industries booth at Canada’s Farm Show in Regina, Sask. will notice a new piece of equipment.
The manufacturer, celebrating its 60th year, is launching its Pro-Cast precision granular applicator at the show.
This piece of equipment is designed specifically for the Degelman Pro-Till High Performance Disks and Strawmaster+ series of heavy harrows.
Growers can use it for “fertilizer, herbicide and some farmers might even put seed into it if conditions are too wet and they want to do some cover crops,” Sheldon Mohr, vice president of sales and marketing with Degelman, told Farms.com. “We’ve had some in the fields already and the results have been very positive for us.”
The Pro-Cast comes in three different sizes.
The PC28 has a 28-bushel capacity, the PC80 has an 80-bushel capacity and the PC120 carries a 120-bushel capacity.
Degelman is displaying the PC80 at the show.
The Pro-Cast comes with multiple features, Mohr said.
“The technology that we’ve got is great,” he said. “We’ve got ISOBUS so we can tie into tractor monitors, and we’ve got some sectional control on the bigger models. And the fact it ties onto an existing Degelman product means it’ll have Degelman support moving forward.”
In addition to a glimpse into Degelman’s future, visitors of the show can also get a look into the company’s past.
On display at the booth is the very first rock picker Wilf Degelman ever built in Raymore, Sask., and a restored rock picker from 1962.
Seeing those pieces of original equipment surrounded by new machinery is special, Mohr said.
“It makes a guy extremely proud when you look at those machines and think about how the company has made it through 60 years of building and 60 years of innovation,” he said.
