Bernet has been with Bayer for over 20 years. He started working in the crop science segment in 2005. Before his recent promotion, he was responsible for Bayer's crop science departments in Poland, the Baltics, and the Czech Republic. He has also held leadership roles in sales and marketing.
Envisaging his future, Bernet shared, “The ensuing year will be about harnessing Canada’s dynamic growth potential. The essence will be to strike a balance between our dedicated team and our cherished clients.”
He praised the Canadian team for their determination and commitment to finding new and innovative solutions. “With a treasure trove of innovations, spanning from seed traits to digital farming, we are poised to redefine growth trajectories for our growers in Canada’s eclectic environmental canvas.”
Bernet has taken over from Al Driver as the new Country Division Head for Bayer Crop Science Canada. The driver is retiring at the end of 2023. The transition has been smooth, with the Driver providing
guidance and support to Bernet. Driver will continue to work on some niche projects for North American crop science until he retires.
