(AGP) announced plans to expand its soybean processing plant in Hastings, Nebraska.The major expansion of the facility is estimated to be running by the fall of 2016. "We are finalizing planning and design specifications for the new soybean processing capacity,” said Keith Spackler, CEO. The facility opened in 1999, which is considered the most Western soybean processing facility in the United States.Expanding the facility will meet the increased demand of growing soybean acres, in Nebraska and Kansas. AGP closed the corn plant portion at its Hastings operation, but the new soybean processing expansion will use components of the former corn processing infrastructure.AGP is working with state officials to finalize construction details.
