In a contested race, the 4-H Ontario Council elected a new President, Kim McCaw. The election took place at 4-H Ontario’s Annual Meeting which was held on Friday, March 21.

McCaw will be taking over the reins from outgoing President John den Haan. In a release, Hann says he is looking forward to working with the new President and Board of Directors. The organization will celebrate its 100 year anniversary in 2015.

Previously, McCaw served as a director on the Ontario 4-H Council Board of Directors for the past two years. She is the past president of the Canadian Young Leaders for Agriculture and is a graduate of the Advanced Agricultural Leadership Program.

Throughout 4-H Ontario’s history, there have been eight women elected as president. McCaw will be the ninth. The last female president to be elected was Shonna Ward, who held the role from 2010 to 2012.
