Pop the hood of your tractor or truck and have a look. You'll mostly see rubber, plastic and metal but if you look close enough, there's corn in there, too. Cornstarch was used to make the spark plugs. When heated, the cornstarch hardens and helps protect the ceramic inside the spark plugs from the high heat and other goings on underneath the hood.
