As consumers become more conscious about where their food comes from, farmers and producers can be forced to adapt to consumer demands. Many organizations have vowed to transition to cage-free eggs, putting pressure on farmers to change their operations. Some companies making the change include McDonald’s, who committed to using 100 percent cage free eggs by 2025, Starbucks by 2020 and various grocery stores.
