Video: The Key to Water Productivity – Nourishing the Soil Microbiome

When considering climate strains such as the recent droughts in many areas of Western Canada, producers have sought new ways to maximize the water they have and make inputs last longer.

Bruce McTavish with Heliae Agriculture, provides an overview of importance of soil microbial vitality for water retention and improved yields, even during seasons of climate strain.

The ability of soil to retain water is greatly impacted by the health of the soil microbiome. By nourishing the microbes within the soil with a balanced, nutrient-dense diet, soil is better equipped to lock in available moisture and facilitate a healthy, thriving crop.
