Pig Farms May Become Virtually Immune From Lawsuits
All 50 US states have 'right to farm' laws on their books, but nine states are trying to strengthen them even more.
HuffPost reports agriculture lobbyists have pushed for a host of new state laws to protect farms from litigation.
Pig farmers are routinely sued over foul smells, loud noises and declining water quality.
The push comes after years of nuisance lawsuits the agriculture industry blames for decimating some livestock producers.
