Video: Scouting Sessions: Estimating Soybean Yields

Manitoba Pulse & Soybean Growers - Once soybeans reach or surpass the full seed stage (R6), yields may be estimated. The Bean App has a yield estimator tool that will do the calculations for you: http://mpgabeanapp.com/soybean-yield-...

To estimate yield, start by calculating your live plant population (plants per acre) and count pods per plant, seeds per pod and estimate seed size (seeds/lb). Yield (lbs/ac) = (plants/acre * pods/plant * seeds/pod) divided by seed size (seeds/lb). Then, divide by 60 for bu/ac.
