V-Ripper
A v-ripper is primarily used to combat soil compaction and reduce cost by incorporating two tillage operations into one pass. A v-ripper will allow a user to successfully subsoil without the problem of plugging. The mixing of the soil increases microbial activity, quickens decomposition and helps protect against soil erosion. Because of the rear shanks, the v-ripper can easily crack through the soil’s hardpan and reduce compaction. Popular brands include: John Deere, Case IH and Wil-Rich.
