Backhoes
A backhoe is a piece of excavating equipment that has a digging bucket on the end of a two-part articulated arm, which is mounted on the back of a tractor or front loader. The arm closest to the operator is known as a "boom" and the part that carries the bucket is known as the "dipper." Backhoes are powered by hydraulics. Backhoes are a tractor-like vehicle which is typically used in construction related activities. Due to its tractor-like characteristics, several tractor manufacturing companies including John Deere also make a line specifically for construction. Backhoes can be purchased new or used.
