Lindberg to lead USDA’s global agricultural trade efforts

The U.S. Senate has officially confirmed Luke Lindberg as the new under secretary for trade and foreign agricultural affairs at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). Lindberg’s appointment comes at a crucial time for agricultural trade, and he received strong bipartisan backing during the confirmation process.

Luke Lindberg brings a wealth of experience to the role. He has worked extensively to promote U.S. agriculture on a global scale and is well-known for his dedication to boosting exports and expanding international markets for American farmers and producers.

Dan Halstrom, President and CEO of the U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF), expressed strong support for Lindberg’s appointment. “USMEF applauds the U.S. Senate for confirming Luke Lindberg with a strong showing of bipartisan support,” said Halstrom. “He has a proven track record as a champion for U.S. agriculture and USMEF looks forward to working with him to expand global demand for U.S. red meat.”

As under secretary, Lindberg will lead efforts to open new markets, strengthen trade relationships, and support farmers and ranchers by growing agricultural exports. His role is key in making sure U.S. food and agricultural products reach more international buyers.

This confirmation is seen as a major win for the agricultural sector, especially during a time when global trade is changing rapidly. With Lindberg in place, many believe the U.S. will be better positioned to compete in foreign markets and support rural economies.

His leadership is expected to bring positive changes to agricultural trade policy and further strengthen America’s position in global agriculture.
