USDA Export Sales Report Release

Wheat:   Net sales of 556,100 MT for delivery during the 2013/2014 marketing year were up 52 percent from the previous week and 10 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (213,100 MT), Brazil (93,100 MT), unknown destinations (63,600 MT), China (60,000 MT), Taiwan (53,400 MT), Chile (38,500 MT), and Vietnam (30,900 MT, including 28,600 MT switched from unknown destinations).  Decreases were reported for Egypt (52,300 MT) and Nigeria (49,300 MT).  Net sales of 44,400 MT for 2014/2015 were reported for the Philippines (30,000 MT), Venezuela (6,500 MT), Mexico (5,000 MT), and Colombia (2,900 MT).  Exports of 633,000 MT were up 16 percent from the previous week and 59 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Brazil (88,600 MT), the Philippines (68,800 MT), Egypt (57,800 MT), Taiwan (53,400 MT), and Mexico (48,200 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:   For 2013/2014, outstanding optional origin sales total 97,000 MT, and are for Algeria (88,000 MT) and Italy (9,000 MT).

Exports for Own Account:  New exports for own account totaling 12,100 MT were reported to Italy.  Exports for own account to Belgium-Luxembourg (1,700 MT) were applied to new or outstanding sales.  The current exports for own account balance is 43,500 MT, and is for Italy (38,100 MT) and Belgium-Luxembourg (5,400 MT).

Corn:  Net sales of 1,518,000 MT for 2013/2014 were up 81 percent from the previous week and 35 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (437,400 MT), Japan (342,400 MT, including 89,100 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 1,500 MT), unknown destinations (207,100 MT), Colombia (179,400 MT), South Korea (134,300 MT, including 65,000 MT switched from China), and Taiwan (75,900 MT).  Decreases were reported for China (71,500 MT), Spain (55,000 MT), and the French West Indies (9,000 MT).  Net sales of 164,500 MT for 2014/2015 were reported for Japan.  Exports of 1,138,100 MT were up 33 percent from the previous week and 38 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were South Korea (256,700 MT), Mexico (224,300 MT), Japan (190,600 MT), Egypt (135,000 MT), and Peru (83,300 MT). 

Optional Origin Sales:   For 2013/2014, outstanding optional origin sales total 55,000 MT, all South Korea.

Export Adjustments:  Accumulated exports to China were adjusted down 63,000 MT for week ending January 2, 2014.    The correct destination is South Korea and is included in this week’s report. 

Barley: There were no net sales or exports reported during the week.

Sorghum: Net sales reductions of 500 MT resulted as increases for China (59,400 MT, switched from unknown destinations) and Japan (5,400 MT, switched from unknown destinations), were more than offset by decreases for unknown destinations (65,400 MT).  Exports of 66,400 MT were reported to China (60,900 MT) and Japan (5,500 MT).

Rice: Net sales of 66,600 MT for 2013/2014 were down 29 percent from the previous week and 28 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Japan (38,200 MT), Panama (18,600 MT, including 17,200 MT switched from unknown destinations), Turkey (12,600 MT), El Salvador (7,900 MT, including 8,200 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 300 MT), and Mexico (4,700 MT).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (25,400 MT) and Switzerland (1,500 MT).  Exports of 70,100 MT were down 8 percent from the previous week, but up 21 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (24,000 MT), Panama (18,600 MT), Turkey (8,700 MT), El Salvador (8,200 MT), and Saudi Arabia (2,300 MT).

Soybeans:  Net sales of 772,700 MT for 2013/2014 were up noticeably from the previous week and the prior 4-week average.  Increases reported for unknown destinations (469,100 MT), Mexico (197,600 MT), Indonesia (82,100 MT, including 72,600 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 9,400 MT), Germany (74,500 MT), and Spain (63,100 MT, including 65,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 1,900 MT), were partially offset by decreases for China (268,300 MT).  Net sales of 256,700 MT for 2014/2015 were reported primarily for China (183,000 MT), Egypt (60,000 MT), and Spain (55,000 MT).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (60,000 MT).  Exports of 1,173,600 MT were down 35 percent from the previous week and 21 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (645,000 MT), Indonesia (135,700 MT), Mexico (77,700 MT), Germany (74,500 MT), and Spain (63,100 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:   For 2013/2014, new optional origin sales totaling 232,000 MT were reported for China (112,000 MT) and Egypt (120,000 MT).   Outstanding optional origin sales total 512,000 MT, and are for China (392,000 MT) and Egypt (120,000 MT).  For 2014/2015, outstanding optional origin sales total 220,000 MT, all China.

Export Adjustments:  Accumulated exports to the Netherlands were adjusted down 74,500 MT for week ending February 13, 2014.  The correct destination is Germany and is included in this week’s report. 

Soybean Cake and Meal:  Net sales of 232,800 MT were up noticeably from the previous week and 44 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (84,700 MT), Latvia (25,600 MT, including 24,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Venezuela (25,000 MT), Canada (22,100 MT), Poland (16,000 MT, switched from unknown destinations), and Guatemala (14,800 MT, including 4,000 MT switched from unknown destinations).   Decreases were reported for the French West Indies (4,200 MT).  Net sales of 35,800 MT for 2014/2015 were reported for Mexico (27,300 MT) and Canada (8,500 MT).   Exports of 334,100 MT were up 21 percent from the previous week and 23 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Vietnam (50,000 MT), the Philippines (49,600 MT), Thailand (49,100 MT), Mexico (37,400 MT), Venezuela (32,000 MT), and Canada (30,700 MT). 

Soybean Oil:  Net sales of 16,900 MT for 2013/2014 were up noticeably from the previous week, but down 27 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Canada (14,700 MT), the Dominican Republic (2,200 MT, including 1,900 MT switched from unknown destinations), Mexico (900 MT), and Peru (700 MT).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (1,900 MT).  Exports of 79,300 MT were up noticeably from the previous week and the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (35,000 MT), Peru (22,800 MT), the Dominican Republic (11,900 MT), and Hong Kong (6,100 MT).

Cotton:  Net Upland sales of 159,500 RB for 2013/2014 were up noticeably from the previous week and 60 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (46,100 RB, including 2,200 RB switched from Indonesia), Turkey (42,900 RB), Vietnam (27,600 RB), South Korea (8,600 RB), Japan (7,300 RB), and Thailand (6,100 RB).  Net sales of 48,200 RB for 2014/2015 were reported for Thailand (10,600 RB), Pakistan (9,200 RB), Peru (6,600 RB), and Turkey (6,400 RB).  Decreases were reported for Indonesia (3,200 RB).  Exports of 363,800 RB--a marketing-year high--were up 31 percent from the previous week and 12 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (84,300 RB), Turkey (83,700 RB), Vietnam (38,800 RB), South Korea (22,600 RB), and Thailand (19,300 RB).  Net American Pima sales of 22,600 RB for 2013/2014 were up 52 percent from the previous week and up noticeably from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (9,700 RB), Turkey (4,500 RB), Peru (2,600 RB), Japan (2,500 RB), and Indonesia (2,400 RB).  Exports of 13,100 RB were primarily to China (9,300 RB), South Korea (1,200 RB), Italy (900 RB), and India (800 RB).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2013/2014, outstanding optional origin sales total 15,700 RB, and are for Thailand (9,300 RB), South Korea (4,600 RB), unknown destinations (1,500 RB), and Vietnam (300 RB).

Exports for Own Account:  For 2013/2014, new exports for own account totaling 4,400 RB were reported to China.  Exports for own account totaling 3,700 RB to China were applied to new or outstanding sales.  The current exports for own account balance is 57,600 RB, and is for China (57,200 RB) and Vietnam (400 RB).

Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 522,700 pieces for 2014 were down 19 percent from the previous week, but up 27 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hides sales of 500,900 pieces were primarily for China (378,800 pieces), South Korea (53,400 pieces), Taiwan (38,100 pieces), Mexico (11,200 pieces), and Hong Kong (10,000 pieces).  Exports of 464,800 pieces were down 18 percent from the previous week, but up 3 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hides exports totaled 460,600 pieces, with the primary destinations being China (294,000 pieces), South Korea (81,500 pieces), Taiwan (38,100 pieces), Mexico (13,900 pieces), and Japan (11,300 pieces).

Net sales of 144,900 wet blues for 2014 were reported for Vietnam (62,200 unsplit), China (35,500 unsplit and 100 grain splits), Italy (15,900 grain splits and 500 unsplit), and Mexico (14,400 grain splits).  Exports of 109,200 wet blues were primarily to China (19,700 unsplit and 2,100 grain splits), Mexico (22,000 grain splits and 3,800 unsplit), Vietnam (16,000 unsplit), Italy (12,100 unsplit and 3,800 grain splits), and Taiwan (12,200 unsplit).  Net sales reductions of splits totaling 107,300 pounds for 2014 resulted as increases for Hong Kong (10,500 pounds), were more than offset by decreases for South Korea (100,700 pounds) and Vietnam (17,200 pounds).  Exports of 964,400 pounds were reported to Vietnam (412,200 pounds), Hong Kong (292,900 pounds), and South Korea (259,300 pounds).

Beef:  Net sales of 11,100 MT for 2014 were down 5 percent from the previous week and 4 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Japan (3,300 MT), Hong Kong (2,300 MT), South Korea (1,400 MT), Mexico (1,200 MT), and Taiwan (800 MT).  Exports of 11,500 MT were primarily to Japan (3,300 MT), Mexico (2,200 MT), South Korea (2,000 MT), Hong Kong (1,700 MT), Canada (1,000 MT), and Taiwan (500 MT).

Pork:  Net sales of 9,500 MT for 2014 were down 27 percent from the previous week and 21 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (3,800 MT), Japan (1,900 MT), South Korea (1,400 MT), Canada (600 MT), and China (400 MT).  Exports of 10,800 MT were primarily to Mexico (3,900 MT), South Korea (1,600 MT), Japan (1,200 MT), Canada (900 MT), and Hong Kong (700 MT).
