USDA Export Sales Report

Wheat:  Net sales of 593,000 metric tons for 2018/2019 were up 15 percent from the previous week and 3 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (135,300 MT), the Philippines (75,800 MT, including decreases of 200 MT), Peru (70,000 MT), Indonesia (68,000 MT), and Iraq (50,000 MT).  Reductions were reported for Malaysia (14,700 MT).  Exports of 432,000 MT were down 13 percent from the previous week and 19 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were primarily to Japan (64,400 MT), Mexico (63,700 MT), South Korea (55,000 MT), Taiwan (35,300 MT), and Guatemala (35,300 MT).   
 
Optional Origin Sales: For 2018/2019, the current outstanding balance of 60,000 MT is for South Korea.
 
Corn:  Net sales of 503,100 MT for 2018/2019 were down 70 percent from the previous week and 65 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (159,000 MT, including decreases of 22,400 MT), Colombia (154,600 MT,  including 100,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Peru (152,500 MT, including 40,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and 30,000 MT switched for Trinidad), South Korea (72,800 MT, including deceases of 800 MT), and Guatemala (40,200 MT, including 20,000 MT switched from El Salvador, 1,500 MT switched from Nicaragua, and decreases of 2,700 MT).  Reductions were reported for unknown destinations (133,700 MT), Trinidad (24,000 MT), the Dominican Republic (9,800 MT), and Costa Rica (1,000 MT).  Exports of 1,006,000 MT were up 12 percent from the previous week and 1 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were primarily to Mexico (261,600 MT), Colombia (249,500 MT), South Korea (201,500 MT), Peru (97,800 MT), and Japan (93,700 MT).   
 
Optional Origin: For 2018/2019, new optional origin sales of 99,600 MT were reported for Saudi Arabia (95,000 MT) and Japan (4,600 MT).  Options were exercised to export 69,000 MT to South Korea from the United States.  Options were exercised to export 62,600 MT to Japan from other than the United States.  The current outstanding balance of 743,200 MT is for South Korea (335,000 MT), unknown destinations (248,200 MT), Saudi Arabia (95,000 MT), and Taiwan (65,000 MT).  
 
Barley:  Net sales of 700 MT were reported for Taiwan.  Exports of 500 MT were to Japan. 
 
Sorghum:  Net sales of 8,900 MT for 2018/2019 were down 56 percent from the previous week and 59 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for unknown destinations (6,000 MT), Mexico (2,000 MT), and Japan (800 MT).  Exports of 11,100 MT were up noticeably from the previous week, but down 66 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were primarily to Japan (10,800 MT).
 
Rice:  Net sales of 66,500 MT for 2018/2019 were down 54 percent from the previous week and 33 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for South Korea (37,000 MT), Nicaragua (36,200 MT, including 36,000 MT switched from Panama), Haiti (15,400 MT), Jordan (6,200 MT), and Taiwan (4,000 MT), were partially offset by reductions for Panama (36,000 MT), Mexico (500 MT), and Costa Rica (200 MT).  Exports of 44,900 MT were down 33 percent from the previous week and 53 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were primarily to Haiti (15,400 MT), Mexico (13,600 MT), Guatemala (9,600 MT), Canada (2,700 MT), and Japan (900 MT). 
 
Export for Own Account:  The current exports for own account outstanding balance is 100 MT, all Canada.
 
Soybeans:  Net sales of 1,051,500 MT for 2018/2019 were down 56 percent from the previous week and 39 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (808,000 MT), Spain (171,300 MT, including 163,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), the Netherlands (84,500 MT, including 80,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Egypt (62,400 MT, including 60,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), and Bangladesh (60,800 MT, including 60,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 6,300 MT).  Reductions were primarily for unknown destinations (384,500 MT) and Belgium (1,000 MT).  For 2019/2020, total net sales were reported for Japan (5,300 MT).  Exports of 918,600 MT were up 50 percent from the previous week, but down 14 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were primarily to Spain (171,300 MT), Bangladesh (114,400 MT), Mexico (104,700 MT), the Netherlands (84,500 MT), and Belgium (65,000 MT).   
 
Optional Origin Sales: For 2018/2019, the current outstanding balance of 172,000 MT is for unknown destinations.  
 
Exports for Own Account:  For 2018/2019, the current exports for own account outstanding balance is 12,100 MT, all Canada.   
 
Daily Sales Not Announced:  Please note that for week ending December 27, 2018, export sales of 808,000 MT of soybeans for delivery to China during the 2018/2019 marketing year would have been reported as Daily Sales.  However, due to the governments lapse in funding these sales were not announced by press release, but are included in this week’s report.
 
Soybean Cake and Meal:  Net sales of 40,600 MT for 2018/2019--a marketing-year low--were down 91 percent from the previous week and 85 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Japan (24,400 MT, including decreases of 2,500 MT), Canada (8,800 MT, including decreases of 100 MT), Guatemala (8,500 MT, switched from El Salvador), Panama (7,000 MT), and Bangladesh (3,400 MT).  Reductions were reported for Peru (15,000 MT), El Salvador (7,200 MT), the Dominican Republic (6,700 MT), and Mexico (2,900 MT).  For 2019/2020, net sales reductions were reported for Canada (300 MT).  Exports of 302,200 MT--a marketing-year high--were up 62 percent from the previous week and 27 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were primarily to Vietnam (53,200 MT), Colombia (46,800 MT), Mexico (41,000 MT), Japan (37,200 MT), and Guatemala (28,900 MT).   
 
Soybean Oil:  Net sales of 16,000 MT for 2018/2019 were up 17 percent from the previous week, but down 16 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were for the Dominican Republic (10,300 MT), Jamaica (3,500 MT), Canada (1,500 MT), and El Salvador (700 MT).  Exports of 8,200 MT were down 46 percent from the previous week and 56 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were primarily to Colombia (4,900 MT), Mexico (2,800 MT), and Canada (400 MT).  
 
Cotton:  Net sales of 228,200 RB for 2018/2019 were down 39 percent from the previous week, but up 39 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Pakistan (52,800 RB), Turkey (49,200 RB, including decreases of 1,700 RB), India (35,500 RB), China (28,400 RB, including decreases of 13,400 RB), and Mexico (23,800 RB).  For 2019/2020, net sales of 32,200 RB were reported for Mexico (29,000 RB), Japan (2,300 RB), and Thailand (900 RB).  Exports of 189,800 RB were down 8 percent from the previous week, but up 13 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Exports were primarily to Vietnam (34,500 RB), Pakistan (31,400 RB), Indonesia (23,000 RB), China (19,600 RB), and Turkey (16,600 RB).  Net sales of Pima totaling 8,300 RB for 2018/2019 were up 6 percent from the previous week, but down 35 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for India (4,100 RB), China (1,300 RB), Thailand (1,000 RB), and Pakistan (1,000 RB).  Exports of 12,500 RB were down 15 percent from the previous week and 6 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were primarily to China (5,400 RB), Peru (3,000 RB), and India (2,900 RB).   
 
Optional Origin Sales:  For 2018/2019, the current outstanding balance of 900 RB is for Vietnam.    
 
Exports for Own Account:  For 2018/2019, exports for own account to China totaling 400 RB were applied to new or outstanding sales.  The current exports for own account outstanding balance is 5,100 RB, all China. 
 
Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 204,300 pieces reported for 2018 were down 13 percent from the previous week and 40 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide sales totaling 201,700 pieces resulted in increases for China (105,900 pieces, including decreases of 8,600 pieces), Thailand (44,600 pieces), South Korea (36,000 pieces, including decreases of 1,200 pieces), Mexico (6,400 pieces, including decreases of 2,100 pieces), and Japan (4,700 pieces).  Reductions were reported for Indonesia (2,800 pieces) and Vietnam (200 pieces).  For 2019, net sales of 77,500 pieces were primarily for China (37,900 pieces), South Korea (17,900 pieces), and Brazil (10,200 pieces).  Exports of 278,100 pieces reported for 2018 were down 42 percent from the previous week and 37 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide exports of 272,800 pieces were primarily to China (191,200 pieces), South Korea (58,200 pieces), Mexico (6,800 pieces), Brazil (5,700 pieces), and Taiwan (3,900 pieces).
 
Net sales of 43,800 wet blues for 2018 resulting in increases for Vietnam (26,800 unsplit) and China (12,800 unsplit and 1,900 grain splits), were partially offset by reductions for Italy (4,800 unsplit), Thailand (1,500 unsplit), and Japan (1,300 unsplit).  For 2019, net sales of 59,900 were primarily for China (21,300 unsplit), Taiwan (19,500 unsplit), and Hong Kong (7,500 grain splits).  Exports of 135,000 wet blues for 2018 were down 16 percent from the previous week, but up 4 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Italy (45,000 unsplit and 6,500 grain splits), Vietnam (49,800 unsplit), and China (21,600 unsplit).  Net sales reductions of splits totaling 100 pounds for 2018 were reported for China.  For 2019, net sales reductions of 34,600 pounds were reported for Vietnam.  Exports of 416,100 pounds for 2018 were down 32 percent from the previous week and 9 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were Vietnam (200,000 pounds), South Korea (200,000 pounds), and China (16,100 pounds).
 
Beef: Net sales of 3,200 MT reported for 2018 were down 77 percent from the previous week and 63 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Canada (1,300 MT), Japan (500 MT, including decreases of 300 MT), South Korea (500 MT, including decreases of 300 MT), Mexico (400 MT, including decreases of 100 MT), and Brazil (200 MT).  For 2019, net sales of 4,300 MT were primarily for Japan (1,200 MT), Hong Kong (1,200 MT), Taiwan (600 MT), Mexico (600 MT), and South Korea (300 MT).  Exports of 11,300 MT were down 45 percent from the previous week and 39 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were South Korea (3,300 MT), Japan (3,000 MT), Hong Kong (1,300 MT), Mexico (1,300 MT), and Taiwan (1,100 MT).
 
Pork:  Net sales of 3,800 MT reported for 2018--a marketing-year low--were down 83 percent from the previous week and 84 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (3,900 MT), South Korea (400 MT), Japan (300 MT), Canada (200 MT), and Taiwan (100 MT).  Reductions were reported for China (700 MT) and Colombia (700 MT).  For 2019, net sales of 29,300 MT reported for China (15,200 MT), South Korea (4,500 MT), Mexico (4,300 MT), and Japan (2,400 MT).  Exports of 21,200 MT were down 28 percent from the previous week and 24 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (6,400 MT), South Korea (4,000 MT), Japan (2,500 MT), Hong Kong (1,700 MT), and Canada (1,500 MT).
