With the pandemic, a number of organizations have turned to online auctions as a way to try and maintain operations.
The Saskatchewan Stock Growers Association is once again holding their Riding for the Brand Fundraising Auction on DLMS.
President Kelcy Elford says it helps to keep the office rolling.
"This auction was such a success last year, during COVID. We were looking for different ways of generating revenue, because we weren't able to have our AGM. What this auction does for the Stock Growers is it helps us run day to day. Helps us pay for mileage, which is quite expensive these days, and it helps us in our lobby efforts. "
He notes, once again, a number of people have stepped up to the plate and made some pretty good donations for the auction.
"If you go into DLMS. It's an online timed auction, and you can scroll through and see all the items that are on there. There is something for everybody from BBP training time, to a trip to Hawaii or an African Safari, a Mexico trip or a couple of fishing trips. One on the South Sask River and other one up north. We've got a couple of barbecue smokers, there's some YETI Coolers. It's a wide range of things for everyone. So if you're thinking, I'm not a stock grower it's all livestock stuff, No there's something for everybody. There's Labor Day tickets, it's worth having a look just to see if there's something you'd like. It's a donation to the Stock Growers and truly the work that we do benefits all the producers in the province, and we do have the producer's best interest in mind at all times."
The Saskatchewan Stock Grower's Riding for the Brand Fundraising Auction on www.dlms.ca wraps up with a 6 PM with a soft close Wednesday, March 30th.
