The Ontario corn harvest is nearly two-thirds complete but continues to lag well behind last year.
The latest field observations from the Grain Farmers of Ontario (GFO) on Thursday pegged the provincewide corn harvest at 63% done as of Wednesday. That’s up from less than half (49%) a week earlier but trails last year when many producers were already wrapped up for the year at this time.
Progress continues to be the most advanced in the southwest and extreme eastern end of the province. (View the latest harvest progress map here: https://gfo.ca/field-progress/)
November weather has been variable for Ontario farmers, with parts of the province getting another dump of heavy wet snow earlier this week.
