A U.S. District Court has temporarily blocked enforcement of the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA), which required corporations, including pork operations, to report ownership information to the Treasury Department. The court stayed the regulation and delayed the January 1, 2025, reporting deadline, deeming the law likely unconstitutional. The CTA sought to combat illegal activities by increasing transparency but was criticized for its broad scope and infringement on corporate anonymity.
The NPPC continues to advocate for pork producers, promoting ethical care for animals, environmental protection, and safe pork products worldwide. For more information, visit www.nppc.org.
