New leadership wave hits USDA

Oct 04, 2023

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is undergoing changes with the arrival of passionate and skilled leaders.

First up, Tate Mitchell. Now the Chief of Staff for Communications, she isn't a stranger to high-pressure roles. She juggled press operations at the Vice President's office and has been in the thick of action at the U.S. Small Business Administration. A proud Texan, Mitchell's academic roots trace back to the University of Missouri's Journalism department.

Enter Rudy Soto, now donning the cap of Deputy Assistant Secretary for Congressional Relations. Tasked with leading the External and Intergovernmental Affairs team, Rudy is no newbie. His past USDA role had him uplifting Idaho's rural sectors. A true Idahoan, Rudy's also deeply connected with his tribal lineage, has served the military, and is a Portland State University graduate.

Rounding up our trio is Steffanie Bezruki. Now the Senior Advisor for the Deputy Secretary, she's been a USDA member since 2021. Capitol Hill knows her well, given her roles there. Focusing on a range from agriculture to small business concerns, Bezruki brings a lot to the table. She hails from Central Illinois and studied at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
