Minnesota Corn Stocks Up 7 Percent, Soybeans Up 10

Minnesota corn stocks in all positions on December 1, 2014, totaled 1.13 billion bushels, up 7 percent from December 1, 2013, according to the latest USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service — Grain Stocks report. Of the total stocks, 77 percent were stored on-farm. The September-November 2014 indicated disappearance totaled 208 million bushels, 38 percent less than the 334 million bushels used during the same period last year.

Minnesota soybeans stored in all positions on December 1, 2014, totaled 221 million bushels, up 10 percent from the 201 million bushels on hand December 1, 2013. Of the total stocks, 57 percent were stored on-farm. Indicated disappearance for September-November 2014 was 94.8 million bushels, 2 percent more than the 93.2 million bushels used during the same quarter last year.

Minnesota oats stocks stored in all positions on December 1, 2014, totaled 15.5 million bushels, 57 percent above the stocks on December 1, 2013. Of the total stocks, 19 percent were stored on-farm.

Minnesota all wheat stocks stored in all positions on December 1, 2014, totaled 73.0 million bushels, down 2 percent from the 74.2 million bushels on December 1, 2013. Of the total stocks, 59 percent were stored on-farm. The September – November 2014 indicated disappearance was 12.9 million bushels.

Minnesota barley stocks stored in all positions on December 1, 2014, totaled 7.57 million bushels, 20 percent below the stocks on December 1, 2013. Of the total stocks, 20 percent were stored on-farm. The September November 2014 indicated disappearance was 602,000 bushels, 30 percent less than the 866,000 bushels used during the same quarter last year.
