NutriAg's Advanced Solutions for Optimal Crop Growth
Chad Mangan, national sales director for NutriAg, recently shared information on how to mitigate crop stress and to maximize yields during the 2024 Great Ontario Yield Tour event in Chesterville, Ontario.
NutriAg, a Canadian crop nutrition company, focuses on optimizing nutrient levels for various crops at various stages of growth.
Mangan shared that NutriAg has been harnessing the power of artificial intelligence (AI) since well before the rise of popular AI tools. The company uses AI to analyze complex nutrient interactions across various crops, aiming to establish optimal nutrient levels.
These levels are continuously updated based on real-time data gathered from yield monitors, way wagons, and hand-harvested samples, ensuring that farmers receive the most accurate and effective recommendations for their fields.
A significant aspect of NutriAg’s innovative approach includes the integration of biologicals into their nutrient solutions. Biologicals, which involve various biomolecules like amino acids and enzymes, are added to essential minerals such as manganese and zinc.
This combination helps plants utilize energy more efficiently, especially during critical growth stages or under stress, like heavy rainfall which can produce reactive oxygen species harmful to the plants.
The goal of these biologicals is to supplement the natural processes of the plant, allowing it to allocate its energy more effectively towards growth and stress resistance.
This method not only enhances crop yield but also contributes to sustainable farming practices by reducing the need for chemical inputs.
NutriAg’s pioneering work in crop nutrition illustrates a promising shift towards more sustainable and efficient agricultural practices through the integration of AI and biological research.
