Indiana farmers are on track for record-high yields in 2024, according to the latest USDA Crop Production Report.
Corn yields are forecast at 209 bushels per acre, 6 bushels higher than last year, with a total production of 1.06 billion bushels, though that’s down 2% from 2023.
Soybean production is expected to reach 358 million bushels, a 7% increase from last year, with yields forecast at 62 bushels per acre. Nationally, corn production is estimated at 15.1 billion bushels, while U.S. soybean production is projected at 4.46 billion bushels.
