Hilton Foods Canada is investing $192 million to build its first North American food processing and distribution facility in Brantford, Ontario, according to a government-issued press release. The new 230,000-square-foot plant will process protein products including beef, pork, lamb and seafood for distribution across eastern Canada, supporting 150 new good-paying jobs.
The Ontario government is contributing $1.5 million through the Southwestern Ontario Development Fund to assist with the project, part of its broader plan to strengthen the province’s economy and food manufacturing industry.
“This investment strengthens our position as a global agri-food manufacturing leader and creates 150 good-paying jobs,” said Trevor Jones, Ontario’s minister of agriculture, food and agribusiness.
Hilton Foods’ regional CEO, Matt Lee, described the project as a long-term commitment to Ontario’s food supply chain, promising innovation, quality and efficiency for Canadian families.
