Help Shape the Future of the Alberta Pork Industry

Maybe you can’t predict the future, but you CAN have a say in what it will look like.

With Alberta Pork elections around the corner, now is your chance to sit at the board table and help shape the future of the industry for yourself and your fellow producers.

For 2015, there are five Director-at-Large positions up for election:

1: Vacant (previously held by Mr. Jaco Poot).
2: Now held by Mr. Andy Vanessen, who has served his two term maximum.
3: Now held by Mr. Frank Novak (Chairman), who will let his name stand for a 2nd term.
4: Now held by Mr. Martin Bowman, who will let his name stand for a second term.
5: Now held by Mr. Ard Bonthuis, who will let his name stand for a second term. 

Nominations for other candidates are open until April 17, 2015.

If you are interested in sitting on the board, please follow this link, complete the nomination form and return it, along with a nominee biography and photo, to the Alberta Pork office so that it will be received by the deadline of 4:00 pm on Friday, April 17, 2015.

In the event that we have more nominees than open board positions, an election will be held to select two Directors-at-Large. To cast your ballot, you will have two options:

A. Mail-in ballots:  Mail-in ballots and instructions for completing them, including a voter guide with candidate bios and photos, will be sent out on April 24 and posted online. Completed ballots must be received by Marketing Council by 4:00 pm, Friday, May 22.

B. In-person voting: You may vote in person at one of the producer meetings below:

Tuesday, May 26:        Vegreville  Pomeroy Inn & Suites, 6539 Hwy 16A West
Wed., May 27:             Red Deer   Black Knight Inn, 4847A 19 St.
Thursday, May 28:       Lethbridge  Coast Lethbridge Hotel & Conference Centre, 526 Mayor Magrath Drive
Tuesday June 2:          Grande Prairie  Pomeroy Hotel & Conference Ctre., 11633 100 St.
