GREAT PLAINS EXPANDS IMPLEMENT COMMAND® FAMILY OF PRODUCTS

Sep 23, 2021

Great Plains is expanding the family of Implement Command-compatible products to help more producers maximize efficiency and improve soil health. Previously offered on Turbo-Max® and Terra-Max® models, producers can now use this innovative technology on select models of Great Plains Disk Harrows and Velocity®. Implement Command allows producers to make active decisions and on-the-go, real-time field adjustments to improve yields and soil health.

For user comfort and convenience, this system allows producers to set, adjust, and monitor the performance of their tillage tools during operation. “The biggest benefit to producers with this technology is, along with convenience and ease-of-use, adjustments can be made as the machine is in operation. The Implement Command system gives the control to the producer inside of the tractor cab – no longer do they have to crawl in and out to perform these tasks,” says Rye DeGarmo, Vice President of Great Plains Engineering.

With Implement Command, several tillage functions can be easily controlled with a simple push of a button. On all models, producers can control the tillage depth and monitor fore/aft leveling. Depending on the implement, other capabilities may include controlling wing down pressure or finisher pressure and monitoring gang angle or reel position. “Producers no longer have to worry about accidentally hitting a lever and making unintended changes to the field. With the Implement Command system, these changes will be immediately visible on the screen,” DeGarmo says.

The Implement Command system is ISOBUS-compatible and works on the tractor’s virtual terminal so no extra monitors are needed in the cab. For tractors equipped with multiple displays, dual VT compatibility lets producers easily transfer implement controls to the next available VT on the bus.

The Implement Command system is now available on all sizes of Velocity and 23ˈ to 36ˈ, 3-section models of disk harrows, along with the previously offered, 18ˈ to 48ˈ, 3- and 5-section Turbo-Max models, and 20ˈ to 40ˈ, 3- and 5-section Terra-Max models. With the expansion of the family of Implement Command-compatible products, even more producers can monitor and adjust their implement and make decisions for their operation from the comfort of their cab.
