FMC Corporation and its subsidiary, FMC Ukraine, have partnered with the Ukrainian Ministry of Economy to foster collaboration and promote agricultural progress. The signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) during the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2023 marks a significant milestone in supporting Ukraine's agricultural sector and economic revival.
The MoC underscores the importance of four key areas: food security, innovation, farmer's safety, and knowledge transfer. FMC and the Ministry will work together to enhance the productivity of Ukrainian agriculture, ensuring a secure food supply.
The collaboration aims to provide farmers with priority access to cutting-edge crop protection technologies, enabling them to maximize yields for key crops such as corn, grains, and fruits. Efforts will be made to prioritize the safe resumption of farming operations and to enhance the knowledge and skills of the agricultural workforce.
Moreover, FMC is committed to collaborating with Ukrainian academic institutions to drive the reconstruction of the agricultural sector and implement programs that promote gender equity in agriculture.
Sebastià Pons, FMC Vice President and President of Europe, Middle East, and Africa, expressed immense pride in the company's dedication to Ukrainian agriculture. FMC will allocate 3% of its Ukraine-generated revenues in 2023 to support The HALO Trust organization, ensuring safe working environments for farmers by addressing potential hazards like unexploded ordnance. The company will also contribute advanced technology for the application of crop protection products, including their innovative 3RIVE 3D application technology.
The Memorandum of Cooperation, effective from June 22, 2023, symbolizes a shared commitment to driving agricultural advancement and fostering a thriving agricultural sector in Ukraine.
