Fall Plant Exchange

Sep 07, 2022

By Jennifer Baumbach

The UCCE Master Gardeners of Solano County will hold their Plant Exchange later this month.  This is a free event.

What is the plant exchange?  Well, it was borne out of Master Gardeners (MGs) exchanging plants and plant parts they grew in their own gardens with each other.  After that, MGs decided to expand and share their love of plant propagation with the public.

We do have a few rules about the Plant Exchange

  • No pesty (bad insects) or diseased plants
  • no spiky plants unless you've wrapped the plant to protect folks having to carry or touch it
  • no invasive plants
  • no plants over 5 gallon size
  • be kind and don't take more than one of a plant you're interested in, others would like to have the opportunity to get a unique plant too
  • no pesticides, fertilizers or large, gas-powered equipment

You can bring any of the following to share/exchange

  • potted plants
  • slips/cuttings
  • seeds
  • bulbs, rhizomes, corms, etc.
  • plant parts like succulent leaves
  • garden related magazines, books, tools or clothing

MGs will be on hand to answer home gardening/plant questions. This is a fun event and we hope to see you there. If you have questions, please contact me.  See the flyer.
