The Manitoba Crop Alliance (MCA) is seeking participants for the 2020 Corn Yield Competition.
The annual competition dates back to 1971.
"Everything is still going ahead as normal since [Manitoba] Corn Growers amalgamated with Manitoba Crop Alliance," said Agronomy Extension Specialist Morgan Cott. "We've omitted the $25 entry fee this year so that's a little bit simplier and just the same as always I take two rows side by side, 50 feet in length, and hand pick the corn."
The top prize this year is $1,000.
Winners will be announced at the MCA virtual AGM to be held in February 2021.
