Although the DD60s predicted for the 5 days following planting at Rocky Mount are considered adequate for the next couple of days, I am worried about the 43 degree low predicted for the 23rd might cause some problems. Temperatures this low can cause chilling injury and taproot abortion. I think the safest thing to do is wait until the 24th. Hopefully the warm weather comes with the first of May. I will give an update on planting conditions every few days here at the extension cotton portal.
