CCGA Dealing With Backlog Of Cash Advance Applications

May 15, 2020
The Canadian Canola Growers Association (CCGA) is dealing with a backlog of cash advance applications.

Dave Gallant is Director of Finance and Operations.

"We are behind right now," he said. "We're seeing normal volumes in the spring time for farmers applying for advances and our goal right now is to get through that backlog over the next 2-3 weeks."

Gallant says they were non-operational for a couple of weeks as employees transitioned to working from home in response to COVID-19. He adds CCGA appreciates the patience shown by farmers and adds CCGA has hired additional staff to help catch up.

CCGA is the largest administrator of the Advance Payments Program in Canada, issuing about $1.5 billion per year to roughly 10,000 farmers.
