Corn growers across Ontario and Quebec now have the option of applying Delegate insecticide by air, for fast and effective control of Western bean cutworm (WBC) and European corn borer.
Recent approval of aerial application on corn crops from the Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) means that farmers can now actively protect their crops from WBC larvae that feed on corn tassels and silks, and eventually tunnel into the ear.
“This announcement is significant for all corn growers. Delegate has minimum impact on beneficials such as ladybugs at the label rate while directly addressing and controlling Western bean cutworm infestation,” explains Tyler Groeneveld, Category Leader, Horticulture at Corteva Agriscience, Agriculture Division of DowDuPont.
