Female ag students can now apply for WIA scholarship
Applications are now being accepted for the 2025 Women in Agribusiness (WIA) Student Scholarship. This opportunity allows selected students to attend the annual WIA Summit, scheduled to take place in Orlando, Florida, from September 22 to 24, 2025. The scholarship covers event registration and accommodation, helping students explore professional pathways in agribusiness.
Each year, through the support of generous sponsors, the program provides over $100,000 in aid to students from accredited colleges and universities. The initiative helps young women gain exposure to the agribusiness sector, connect with mentors, and explore potential career options. Over the past 13 years, the program has awarded nearly $1.4 million, assisting almost 400 students interested in agricultural careers.
The scholarship is open to full-time students at all academic levels, from first-year undergraduates to doctoral candidates. While preference is given to junior and senior undergraduate students, others are encouraged to apply as well. Applicants must be studying an agriculture-related field. However, students from other majors may also apply if they can demonstrate how attending the summit aligns with their career goals.
The WIA Summit provides a rich environment for learning and networking. Attendees will take part in special events like student-only breakfasts, workshops, and meetings with sponsoring companies. Many past scholars have built strong professional relationships at the Summit that helped shape their careers.
