Fighting Crop Losses

Acadian Plant Health has introduced its Abiotic Stress Management (ASM) portfolio, a step forward in helping crops withstand environmental challenges.

Abiotic stress is the negative impact of non-living environmental factors on living organisms.  Abiotic stress includes factors such as temperature, salinity, drought/floods, and metal toxicity. It can impact plant growth and development and causes reduction in crop yields.

Unlike traditional biostimulants, ASM is designed to improve plant growth and resilience against abiotic stress, which is the leading cause of reduced yields. Abiotic stress refers to environmental conditions like extreme temperatures, drought, salinity, and heavy metal toxicity that negatively affect plant health.

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, 90% of crop losses result from extreme weather, costing farmers approximately $170 billion annually. With increasing challenges such as unpredictable weather patterns, floods, and droughts, effective solutions like the ASM portfolio are crucial for maintaining crop productivity.

"Abiotic stress has often been underestimated in its impact, but our Abiotic Stress Management portfolio is changing that," said Nelson Gibson, President, Acadian Plant Health. "With its unmatched reliability and efficacy, this portfolio sets a new benchmark in biostimulants."

ASM integrates advanced biological compounds formulated to combat specific stressors, enhancing crop resilience. Developed by a team of experts, this technology has been rigorously tested to ensure consistent performance and seamless integration into modern farming practices.

"The future of farming depends on how effectively we can equip farmers to manage abiotic stress," said Gibson. "This will strengthen the resilience of our food system. It empowers farmers to achieve greater economic well-being now and in the years to come."

With the launch of ASM, Acadian Plant Health reaffirms its commitment to climate-smart, sustainable agriculture through innovative, science-backed biostimulant solutions.
