Crops in most areas—with the exceptions of the southwest and northwest—were above the ten year average.
The harvest is mostly over with only a bit of canola, flax, soybean and chickpeas left to combine.
The final Saskatchewan Agriculture crop report of the year estimates two per cent of canola, 6 per cent of flax, 9 per cent of chickpeas and 13 per cent of soybeans are still on the field.
Most cereal and oilseed crops will likely grade either number one or two, but there are some exceptions. Dry conditions followed by late season rain impacted crop quality in the southwest. For example, 18 percent of lentils are estimated to be number three or lower, while 45 percent of durum could be number three or lower.
