About Kochia:Kochia Scoraria is a weed type that the reproduces by seed. It ranges in size and height, and tends to appear more after droughts. Kochia grows vertically, and can reach heights up to 6 feet, but on average is between 3 to 4 feet. This weed can produce up to 25,000 seeds per plant. Kochia is native to Australia, North America, Europe and Asia. Family: Goosefoot Kochia Scouting and Prevention:Kochia tends to germinate earlier in the season. Paying close attention to pre-season signs and spraying early can help reduce seed production, and will help save your crops from the effects of Kochia. It is important to choose a herbicide that will offer a large time frame for application, as well as optimum coverage. Kochia ControlIf Kochia ends up getting into you crop, there are a number of different options to choose from in order to control the weed. But with most of these herbicides, success will be found by spraying early. Pre-harvest glyphosate can be an effective herbicide when dealing with Kochia, it works best in the beginning when the weeds have not yet reached maturity. Post-harvest herbicides are the least effective way to treat Kochia. Latin / Alternative Kochia Names:- - Scoraria
