Charles Lalonde, Biomass Project Coordinator for the Ontario Federation of Agriculture, says the future looks promising for corn stalk harvesting to quickly gain momentum in Southwestern Ontario.
"We're now going from studies to tangible projects. Comet Biorefining has announced that it will build a sugar extraction facility for corn stove in Sarnia. And, just recently, the Cellulosic Sugar Producers Cooperative announced that they would become partners with Comet."
Charles Lalonde was interviewed by Biotalk.ca Editor James Tost at the 2nd Annual BioProducts Cluster Workshop held in Toronto, Ontario on March 30-31, 2016. Theme of the event, hosted by Bioindustrial Innovation Canada (BIC), was "Cellulosic Biorefining - From the Farm to the Customer".
