Series of movie nights being held across the Prairies

The impact agricultural communities have on the local and global landscape can’t be understated and a series of family nights are being hosted across Western Canada by Bayer CropScience to show appreciation for those families.

The communities will enjoy quality time with friends and family, outdoor movies, face painters and more.

The communities will also receive $10,000 to be used to update community facilities.

“I’m a believer in education and saw it as an opportunity to see some funds go towards the school project,” said Bernie Fehr, a farmer from Trochu, Alberta.

A local school in the area underwent serious modernization renovations, including having the gymnasium expanded and the results have been positive.

“There was a large grand opening of the gym,” Fehr said. “The first event involved the Calgary Stampeders football team come play basketball against local high school teams.”

In Quill Lake, Saskatchewan, the money was used to upgrade a local curling rink.

“Our artificial ice plant went down,” said Robert Benjamin, Mayor of Quill Lake. “To add $10,000 to the project is substantial. It’s not just for people in town, people across the country and even outside the country use it.”

“Our success – and the success of Canadian agriculture – is dependent on farmers and the communities that support them,” said Blaine Woycheshin, Marketing Manager, InVigor Seed, Bayer CropScience. “This is a small way to say thank you.”
