May 30 projections from 338Canada.com have the seat as “Safe UCP.”
In the 2023 general election, the UCP’s Nathan Cooper won the riding with 75.1 per cent of the vote.
Cooper accepted a position within Premier Danielle Smith’s government as Alberta’s official representative to the U.S., triggering the by-election.
338Canada.com’s projections show the NDP as the likely winners in Edmonton-Ellerslie and Edmonton-Strathcona.
In Edmonton-Ellerslie during the 2023 provincial election, Rod Loyola won for the NDP with 61.7 per cent of voter support.
And in Edmonton-Strathcona, former NDP Leader Rachel Notley won with 79.7 per cent of the vote.
Former mayor of Calgary and current NDP Leader Naheed Nenshi is running in this riding.
