New Order Directs Federal Agencies to Modernize Wildfire Tactics
To prepare for the 2025 wildfire and hurricane season, a new executive order has been signed by President.
The order is titled Empowering Commonsense Wildfire Prevention and Response and is aimed at improving federal and local fire management.
The directive calls for streamlining federal agency efforts, embracing new technologies, and enhancing cooperation with local communities. It focuses on preventing wildfires through smart land use and faster emergency reactions.
Secretary Brooke L. Rollins emphasized the importance of preparedness, especially for rural and forested regions. “American farmland, forests, and communities have suffered the devastating consequences of slow and inadequate fire response cause by reckless mismanagement and lack of preparedness. President Trump’s suite of executive orders show that this Administration will not sit back and watch the destruction of our forests and property,” said Secretary Rollins.
