Two tornadoes touched down in southwestern Ontario on Friday evening, causing damage in two rural locations.
The first, an EF-0 tornado, was confirmed near Leamington around 5:40 p.m., according to an article released by Global News.
With winds reaching up to 130 km per hour, the tornado damaged multiple solar panels and a greenhouse.
Hours later, the second tornado touched down near Hawkesville around 7:30 p.m., according to Global.
This tornado, classified as an EF-2, had winds reaching 180 km per hour.
“There has been some significant damage to a couple of well-built sheds and some heavy farm equipment was tossed,” Rob Kuhn, Environment Canada’s severe weather meteorologist, said in a CBC News article Saturday.
The tornado also damaged some crops, hydro poles and trees, according to Kuhn.
Some of the footage of the damage to a local farm from this tornado was captured with a drone by Nate Leis, a first responder in the New Hamburg area:

“When I arrived on Friday night around 8 p.m., I was at a loss for words,” said Leis.
“It wasn’t until Saturday morning that I was able to get a good look at the path and the extent of the damage.”
No injuries have been reported by anyone in either location.
After Friday’s weather events, southwestern Ontario has a total of nine tornadoes so far in 2017, Global News reported.
