A new product from Topcon Agriculture is designed to help farmers till their fields efficiently.
The Tillage Depth Control system will combine the NORAC Boom Height Control system to create a “set it and forget it system that will automatically hit the correct cutting depth in all conditions and terrains.”
This system also promotes tillage tools as a key part of precision agriculture. It uses up to four ultrasonic sensors to maintain a set implement depth and make adjustments according to different soil compositions.
Farmers can also zero out the system, meaning with the push of a button they can reset the implement’s depth settings.
“We see the tillage tool as a powerful platform for sensors and the collection of valuable agronomic date for the producer,” Brian Sorbe, vice president of product solutions and IoT business development for Topcon Agriculture, said in a statement yesterday. “This product is the first of several steps we are taking in the progression of intelligent tillage.”
The system is also compatible with several equipment brands.
“It can be installed on any trailed tillage tool with hydraulic lift and utilize a factory display that supports ISOBUS Virtual Terminal functionality,” Sorbe said in the statement. “The system is bringing precision tillage farming for use even on tractors not equipped with the latest technical capabilities.”
