New online hub helps farmers choose pulse varieties across regions
Saskatchewan Pulse Growers (SPG) has unveiled the new Pulse Variety Hub, an upgraded digital platform designed to help producers select the best pulse varieties for their farms across Western Canada. The Hub serves as a one-stop resource that allows users to compare variety performance across regions, access detailed crop data, and make informed decisions tailored to their growing environments.
The enhanced Pulse Variety Hub includes an expanded range of pulse crops such as lentils, peas, chickpeas, faba beans, and dry beans. Each variety listing now features updated information on agronomic characteristics, maturity, protein content, disease resistance, and seed coat colour.
One of the platform’s most notable improvements is its weather data integration, allowing users to assess how different varieties perform under varying environmental conditions. This helps farmers identify which crops are most resilient to local weather patterns and climate changes.
The redesigned interface offers an improved user experience with faster navigation and clear comparison tools. It also ensures seamless performance across multiple devices—from computers to tablets and smartphones—so farmers can access valuable data anywhere, anytime.
